About this deal

Heat Resistant Sealant Vitcas ® Heat Resistant Sealant is used for fixing and sealing gaps in ceramics, glass, metal and other silicate materials.

It possesses good tack and application properties and will resist the effects of heat to temperatures of 1250°C.

Supplied in 310ml tubes, available in Black and Clear and suitable for alkaline substrates such as concrete, mortar and fibre cement. The Hobbit is perfect - not only does it fit very snugly, but it looks fantastic and the blue door complements the tiles very nicely. Heat resistant up to 1200°C, this silicone is ideally suited for sealing pipe and stove connections, around Chimney Closure Plates and Flashings.

We have a lovely cast iron tiled fireplace which I was desperate not to lose when we installed a small wood burning stove, but until I found the Hobbit on Google, everyone told me it would be impossible to keep the fire surround. We had two different London-based fireplace companies tell us that we simply had to knock out the old cast iron and tile fireplace to fit in a woodburning stove, and that there was no other option! Available in a range of colours with excellent adhesion and designed to swell when exposed to high temperatures with the ability to maintain the integrity of fire walls and partitions. Designed for safe installation and jointing of concrete flue liners in domestic fireplaces and stoves, etc.Specially developed to effectively prevent the spread of smoke and fire once applied to most common substrates whilst easy to apply and tool off with fast cure for over painting. Apply sealant in the joint by repeatedly and evenly pressing on gun trigger and smoothly dragging the nozzle along the joint.

Heat Resistant Silicone Vitcas ® Heat Resistant Silicone is a heatproof flexible sealant for joints in contact with high heat- flues and stove pipes. It is used successfully with ceramics, glass, metals, concrete, stone, silicate fibre materials and many other surfaces, either to themselves or to each other .Exercise care during any contact with metal which deforms when exposed to high temperature as opposed to the sealant itself. Ideal for high temp applications such as sealing connections between single skin flue pipes and can be used outside on the Flashing. We are delighted with our little Hobbit, which swallows up logs and kicks out a good amount of heat. Proudly independent, not endorsed by or affiliated with Aga Rangemaster Ltd or Aga Rangemaster Group Ltd. Alternatively, cured sealant may be removed from non porous surfaces using DOWSIL™ Silicone Sealant Remover.

As the result of heating, the mass will turn dark grey, extra hard and withstands temperatures of up to 1500ᵒC. Fire and flue sealants are used in applications where extreme temperatures are reached around metal, brick or concrete joints, cracks and fissures. Clean all joints of release agents, water repellents, dust, dirt, old sealants and other contaminants which could impair adhesion. This makes it easy to apply to your flue components, and ensures that your flue parts will remain firmly in place and tightly sealed over time, despite any minor movement of your flue parts. It was fitted a few months ago in our holiday home in Rhu, Scotland, which is a large open plan conversion in a Victorian house. The material will set at room temperatures but the time will be reduced by applying heat, gradually increasing over a four hour period. It won't be enough for replacing firebricks but that is a job best left to the professionals anyway!
