Listed below are some exciting techniques you can use to create some lovely effects and interesting surface textures. However, since the brusho is so concentrated and fine I think this would probably end in considerable waste and a fair bit of mess.

Brushos are also available in Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Cobalt blue, Crimson, Gamboge, Grey, Light Brown, Lime Green, Moss Green, Olive Green, Ostwald Blue, Ostwald Red, Prussian Blue, Rose Red, Sandstone, Scarlet, Sea Green, Sunburst Lemon, Terracotta, Vermilion, Violet, White, and Yellow Ochre. Brusho can be diluted with water to create coloured transparent inks, or diluted on a palette to create transparent paint. With this glazing technique you usually wait until the first layer is dry before you apply the next. Use a little atomiser/spray bottle to spritz a little water over the sprinkled Brusho powder and watch it leap to life.

Using any of the above simple techniques you will have a glorious spread of vibrant colour in moments. Masking fluid can be used with Brusho paints or inks, just paint using a ruling pen or silicone applicator or an old brush onto the paper and leave to dry.

You will be able to produce a endless hues, tints and shades either by mixing, diluting or otherwise altering the concentration of the paint. To make Brusho inks, all you need are some small 100ml spray bottles in which to decant a small amount of your pigment powder. The colours lend themselves ideally for the production of a variety of hues, tints and shades by mixing, dilution or concentration, or by the superimposition of washes. When I place this onto my dampened watercolour paper and sprinkle a small amount on it, I am left with an array of multiple pigments such as warm browns, darker browns, yellows, and even a tad of red!Available in 15g and 50g tubs, this versatile and intense paint powder can be applied to a variety of mediums including: watercolour, mixing with acrylics, simple sprinkling techniques and even wood staining! They tend to include water in one form or another because that is the first thing that I am reminded of when I see an exuberant splash of brusho.

But note that *many* colours (oil, watercolour, acrylic, gouache) are dye-based and this is not sufficient to decide whether they are “of no use to professional artists creating original fine artworks”. Because the pigment powder is so fine, some artists may wear a mask, especially if they suffer from respiratory problems.
