In 1973, a group of friends united by their love of gastronomy had a mission to create great wines to complement their culinary creations. Rioja Joven wines receive little or no oak; while Rioja Crianza gets a minimum of one year in barrel followed by one year in bottle. The must of the best grapes ferments slowly and carefully, with periodic comebacks, to extract the desired color and aromas and then perform malolactic deposits.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The basis for the balanced Crianza Rioja from La Rioja are grapes from the grape varieties Cariñena, Garnacha and Tempranillo. The aromas are intensely aromatic, featuring citrus notes, white fruits like pear, and herbaceous hints of fennel. A group of businessmen and friends of a Gastronomic Society from the Basque country used to come to La Rioja on holiday together, and decided to produce their own wines to go with the local cuisine.

Reserva wines get a year in oak and minimum two years in bottle while the region's finest wines, Rioja Gran Reserva, cannot be released until they have undergone five years ageing, two of which will be in oak.Excludes Northern Scotland, Northern Ireland, Highlands and other UK Islands, where individual rates will apply. After a one-year break, the wine goes into mixed barrels, with staves of American oak and French oak bottoms that help the Beronia acquire its distinctive aging aromas. After three years of careful ageing in mixed oak barrels and bottle, soft tannins weave through the lush black fruit base, balanced by notes of cacao, roasted hazelnut and a touch of pepper.

Tempranillo wines are ruby-red in colour, with notes of red-berries, plum, tobacco, vanilla, leather, and herbs.
